Crystal and Antonious' wedding

Maclaurin Hall, University of Sydney

Rustic and antique elements bring guests back to more regal time.

The concept

We love wedding styling at MacLaurin Hall at Sydney University because of its classic Victorian architecture, so when Crystal and Antonius approached us with their wedding styling concept, we were all over it. The concept for the design of this wedding was a soft pink with hues of purple moave and antique theme to suit the historic essence of the space itself.

MacLaurin Hall is such a heritage venue with stunning architectural features like stained glass windows and a high arched ceiling. It’s like getting married in a castle, worthy of royalty. Of course we chose lots of golden furnishings to add to this luxury; gold Tiffany chairs, gold table stands and candleholders, metallic gold leaves woven into the centrepieces, gold dance floor decal and even a golden harp. Gold, gold, gold everything!

Big and colourful floral arrangements popped of vibrant pinks and whites everywhere. Fresh roses from light dusty pink shades to darker more vibrant shades of pink, white roses and orchids filled the room with a deliciously sweet aroma. The whole set up seemed to pull you into an entirely different era; more regal, romantic and classical times.

"A wedding worthy of royalty"

Evening sunlight shines superbly through the beautiful arched windows of MacLaurin Hall, making the wedding reception look incredibly magical. By night fall, dim and romantic candlelight brings warmth into the room through the gorgeous antique candelabras with shiny crystal droplets – elegant little touches make all the difference.

We wanted to enchant guests as soon as they arrived through the stunning floral arch entry overflowing with luscious and vibrant pink roses, leading them through the white dance floor. Making the space look even more majestic, we drew attention to the bridal table with a glossy white stage wrap and staggering florals with romantic warmly lit pillar candles.

The colour scheme of the wedding design of pinks complemented the sandstone interior so well, coming together so tastefully with that soft and gentle feeling of love. It truly was a wedding worthy of royalty.
