Enormous, grand, spectacular – these are the first impressions of walking into the iconic civil landmark where we styled Susan and Matthew’s showstopping wedding. Town Hall is incredibly opulent and majestic with astounding 20m high ceilings and towering stained glass windows. Our goal was to fill this enormous room with bountiful and aromatic fresh floral bouquets, and make it look luxurious and worthy of being set in such a prominent location.
To fill this entire wedding venue, our huge team of florists left in the early hours of the morning with two packed vans of freshly cut wedding flowers and made our merry way to Town Hall. As soon as we got in, it was straight to work with over 30 bursting white rose wedding centrepieces, individually hand peeled and arranged. We wanted the bride and groom to walk in and be blown away, so we had to get this all done by 4:30pm. Time was of the essence.
More white rose arrangements lined the magnificent staircase in the backdrop of the bridal table. We staggered the arrangements with candles all cascading down the stairs elegantly. Combined with bright pink and blue uplighting and the rich Victorian interior design, it looked like a cathedral, absolutely holy and breathtaking.
Gold detailing made the venue look exceptionally elegant, like gold Tiffany and oval chairs, stands and vases, that complemented the rich gold and woody features of Town Hall’s interior. Golden crystal candelabras also matched the ornate crystal chandelier that you can see as soon as you walk into the door of this stunning venue. We did our best to pair luxury with even more luxury.
This expansive venue called for a long white aisle for the bridal entry leading up towards the dance floor and bridal table. Can you imagine walking down this long stretch, looking around at tall beautiful flowers, smelling the fresh aroma and seeing the faces of all your family and friends? Truly amazing.
With such a big venue, lighting played a big role in creating an intimate atmosphere for the night. While we had a more romantic candlelight set up on the tables, we also had blue, pink and purple uplighting shining along the walls towards the ceiling. These were to sensational effect as they filled up the immensity of the room and made the overall outcome extravagant and unparalleled.
