Sometimes magic happens when wedding designs are kept simple, like when we styled Monica and Peter’s wedding at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Darling Harbour. Crisp, clean and classic, the concept around this amazing couple’s wedding day was a delightful dinner under the stars with fresh white florals and clear crystal ornaments. Dim lighting is all we need to set the romantic atmosphere and mood.
One of the highlights of this wedding setup is the tall fresh white floral bouquet centrepieces. What we love about wedding flower styling is how we can create many different shapes and effects with the bouquets to give them their own personality – it really is an artform. We wanted to create explosive and asymmetrical arrangements, using a combination of fresh white roses, white stock flowers and lush green leaves that are a stunning feature on their own.
Overhead on the ceiling is nothing too over the top, just beautiful twinkling fairy lights cascading down like a romantic starry night. We kept all the curtains closed and the lighting at the Hyatt Regency nice and dim to create that romantic ambience. We love the classic look and feel of this wedding styling.
The key to pulling off a wedding design like this is all about creating nice contrasts with lighting and details. Fairy lights only twinkle and look magical with dim lighting in the venue. Balancing out the bigger eye-catching floral arrangements are smaller arrangements of pretty fresh white roses on the round tables in gorgeous crystal vases that are so elegant.
Beautiful crisp and clean crystal adornments fill the long king tables leading towards the dance floor. Crystal is not only a luxurious touch, combined with ambient candle runners, it keeps the attention on more striking features above eye level. It all came together so nicely and transformed the Hyatt Regency into such a romantic starry night wedding for Monica and Peter.
