Nico Tjen and Louisa’s Hyatt Regency wedding was like walking into a scene from The Great Gatsby – lush, lavish and decadent. We wanted it to look indulgent, but still remain subtle and elegant. Nothing speaks glamour like soft pink and golden tones, and luxury like golden crystal chandeliers.
While our usual wedding styling incorporates a lot of fresh floral elements, dry flowers are now the latest wedding trend. We created this installation with light and feathery plumes of white, pink and gold dyed dry leaves suspended from the ceiling. We absolutely loved the softness of the textures this created throughout the room.
The Hyatt Regency Hotel in Darling Harbour is the perfect wedding venue to achieve such a remarkable feat. Located right in the heart of the city and known for its exquisite cuisine, Nico and Louisa were able to bring their family and friends right into a world of luxuriousness.
One of our favourite features of this wedding has to be these stunning gold and crystal chandeliers from Starlight Chandeliers. There were a total of 34 chandeliers that we used that all helped us achieve this grand opulence.
It took two days for our team to create this ceiling installation for Nico and Louisa’s wedding and a whole night to pack it down. We were very fortunate that the Hyatt Regency was so accommodating with our bump in time.
Among other design elements we loved was the long grand entry to the ballroom and the gold foiled vinyl sticker on the dance floor. The table centrepieces were a combination of more fluffy plume arrangements to match the theme, and gorgeous clear hanging bauble balls with tealight candles.
