Set in the overly large wedding reception venue, Lantana, Jennifer and Elie’s wedding was beautifully designed with a modern and chic palette rather than a usual white wedding. We centred the design concept for their wedding day around elegant black and gold decor to suit this stylish and contemporary venue.
One of the venue’s incredible features is it’s large size and long walk way, so we added a seamless black and glossy dance floor, framed by a row of elegant king tables and had the round tables on the outer edges. The ceiling of Lantana is beautifully arched with impressionable lighting features, so we chose to work with the architecture of this wonderful space.
Adding further focus to the centre stage of Jennifer and Elie’s wedding was a backdrop behind the bridal table and five luxurious crystal chandeliers overhanging the bridal table which worked really well to enhance the elegance of the venue itself. Chandeliers made a spectacular visual addition to the grand opulence of the reception.
When styling large weddings in big reception venues, we always want to bring guests in closer together and create a sense of intimacy. Lantana is such a spacious venue with high ceilings, so tall crowning table centrepieces and luscious bouquets double the effect of making a reception venue look pretty and distract from the vastness from floor to ceiling.
Explosions of beautiful white florals and cascading greenery in the artificial flower bouquets and centrepieces looked incredible as you walked into this gorgeous set up illuminated by overhead candle runners. Warm lighting was complementary to the colour palette, creating a deep feeling of romance and even slightly mysterious.
You really can’t go wrong with black and gold design concepts, when done right it can look incredibly elegant and sophisticated. Creating striking contrast elements were a key factor, like black tablecloths against gold chairs, and the golden pillar candelabras with black candles that emanate of luxury and opulence. The result is pure magic.
