Anna and Shirley’s Melbourne wedding at Metropolis Events is one of our first ever LGBT same sex weddings. We styled for this stunning couple one of our signature wedding styling looks, the enchanted forest.
How did we put all of this together? 36 hours before the wedding, we loaded a truck full of fresh flowers and crew from Sydney sent to to deliver to one of our favourite cities. Melbourne is full of fine arts and culture, and the Metropolis is situated right in the heart of its Arts Precinct in Southgate.
Our main feature was the big truss filled with stocks, luscious greenery and teardrop fairy lights for the awe striking ceiling installation suspended over the black dancefloor. We really layered the installation to work with the depth of the ceiling. During the day, lots of natural light floods the room through the gorgeous picture windows from floor to ceiling of the venue.
We created beautiful bouquets of fresh white and light pink roses for the table centrepieces that filled the room with a lovely floral scent. What really made the evening magical was the warm candlelight and fairy lights that illuminated the room.
Gorgeous roses, orchids and vibrant green leaves cascade along the picturesque bridal table. We placed a candle runner below the table with warm orange light that created a romantic ambience. They also bring attention to the table and put the spotlight on the newly wedded happy couple.
For their wedding ceremony, we used the same floral combinations to create an exquisite wedding arch and walkway along the aisle. We loved the story of how Anna and Shirley were the best of friends before they fell in love. The whole day turned out to be an incredible experience.
We hope they loved it as much as we did.
