Amy and Tai wanted to keep their wedding ceremony simple and elegant, but come time for celebrations it was a colourful and whimsical setting. This Alice in Wonderland theme was fitting for the location of the State Library of Victoria and such a fun experience to put together for this playful couple.
For their wedding ceremony, white roses and green foliages set the tone for simple, sophisticated and romantic nuptials. This initial set up was more reflective of Amy and Tai’s serious and mature nature, even tricking guests into thinking they would have a plain, traditional and classic wedding.
Come evening, we are welcomed into a world of whimsy with flamingos and little grass rabbits greeting the guests. Colourful bursts of beiges, blushes, light pinks, reds, dusty oranges and white fresh wedding flowers bring a lightness and brightness into the beautiful reception venue. This Alice and Wonderland wedding styling is reflective of Amy and Tai’s more childlike nature, and we hope they only have more discovery and adventure to come from their union.
It was important for us to bring the magic into this scene, especially with a storybook theme like Alice in Wonderland. What better way to do this by bringing through some romantic candlelight? We used our indoor artificial tree installations to hand our starlight bauble tealight candles to create that magical twinkle.
This wedding was so surreal and such a joyous event to style, it really got us to be imaginative and creative when thinking of all the design elements. We especially loved the little book decorations the rabbits were sitting on, really tying in that element of fantasy and the setting of the library.
